1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to

Superbill is a Heyi Lab product, operated by Ning Zhang, an individual (“we”, “us”). Heyi Lab is a trading name of Ning Zhang, not a separate legal entity, and it is the seller name you see at Creem checkout. Creem is the merchant of record for every purchase (see section 6). By using the Superbill website or web app, or by buying a Pro license, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Superbill for a practice or a company, you confirm that you can accept these Terms on its behalf.

If you do not agree, do not use Superbill. You can reach us at any time on the Contact page or at support@dtchain.org.

2. What Superbill is

Superbill is a tool for out-of-network therapists in the United States. You enter provider, client and session details; it checks them for common causes of rejected superbills (for example a CPT code that does not match the session length, telehealth place-of-service and modifier pairing, diagnosis pointers, NPI format, or a date of service that is close to a filing deadline), and it produces PDF superbills, Good Faith Estimates and client guides.

Everything runs in your web browser. We do not host your client records, and we do not submit anything to an insurer for you. Superbill is not an electronic health record, a clearinghouse, or an insurance billing service.

3. Not legal, billing, tax or medical advice

Superbill gives general information and automated checks. It is not legal, billing, coding, tax, insurance or medical advice, and nothing it shows replaces your own professional judgment or the advice of your billing or compliance adviser.

The checks cover a limited set of common problems. A superbill that passes every check can still be rejected, and a warning does not always mean a claim will fail. Payer rules differ and change. We do not guarantee that any claim, superbill, reimbursement or Good Faith Estimate will be accepted, paid, or compliant with any law or payer policy. You are responsible for confirming codes, dates, amounts and every other detail before you give a document to a client or a payer.

The FSA and tax-year pages on this site are general information, not tax advice. Check your own plan documents.

4. Your data, and a note on HIPAA

The details you type into Superbill (provider, clients, sessions, any logo you upload) are stored in your own browser, on your own device, and are never uploaded to us. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored and which requests the app makes. Because the data stays on your device, we cannot see it, recover it, or restore it if you clear your browser data or lose the device. Use the backup export in the app and keep that file somewhere safe.

Because Superbill’s servers never receive your clients’ information, we believe we do not receive, store or transmit protected health information (PHI) for you, and we do not sign business associate agreements. Whether your own use of any software, including saving data in a browser and downloading PDFs and backups, meets HIPAA or your state’s rules is up to you. Secure your device (screen lock, disk encryption, an up-to-date browser), protect any downloaded files, and talk to your compliance adviser if you are unsure. Please never email us client information.

5. Plans, Pro and your license key

Superbill is free to use with unlimited checks and 5 counted PDF exports a month. Superbill Pro costs $15 per month or $99 per year and makes PDF exports unlimited and adds your logo to documents. Prices are shown on the pricing section of the home page and at checkout before you pay. We may change prices or plans for future purchases and renewals; if a price change affects a subscription you already have, you will be told before it applies and can cancel first.

Pro is delivered as a license key. There are no Superbill accounts: after checkout, Creem emails you the key and you paste it into the app under Activate Pro. One key can be active on up to 3 devices at a time. The key is for you (or your practice); do not share it, post it, or resell it. If a key is shared beyond the device limit, we may switch it off.

The app checks your license with our license server, which asks Creem, when you activate it and then at most about once a week. If the check cannot be completed, Pro stays on for a limited grace period and then switches off until the app can check again. When a subscription ends or is refunded, Creem switches the key off and the device returns to the free plan.

6. Payment, taxes and Creem

Payments for Superbill Pro are handled by Creem (creem.io), which acts as the merchant of record. Creem processes the payment, calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt and emails you the license key. Creem checkout shows the seller as Heyi Lab, and your card statement shows CREEM.IO* STORE. By buying, you also accept Creem’s Buyer Terms, which govern the payment itself. Creem’s Privacy Policy explains how it handles your payment data.

Pro is a subscription that renews automatically each month or each year until you cancel. You authorize Creem to charge your payment method for each renewal.

7. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time in the Creem customer portal (log in with the email you used at checkout, or use the link in your receipt email). Cancelling stops future renewals. If you cannot cancel there, email support@dtchain.org and we will help.

You can ask for a refund of your first Pro payment within 3 days of paying. Renewals and the unused part of a billing period are not refunded. The full rules, and how to ask, are on the Refund policy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Superbill to create documents that are false, misleading or fraudulent, including superbills for services that were not provided or with codes, dates or amounts you know are wrong;
  • break the law, or use Superbill in a way that infringes anyone’s rights;
  • share, resell or publish a Pro license key, or work around the device limit or the free-plan export limit;
  • copy, scrape or overload the site or the license service, probe it for weaknesses, or interfere with it;
  • reverse engineer or attempt to extract server-side secrets or code, except where the law allows it;
  • resell or offer Superbill to others as your own product or service.

9. Ownership

Superbill, its design, text and code belong to Ning Zhang or its licensors. Your Pro license gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app as described here for as long as your subscription is active. You keep all rights to your own data and documents; we claim none, and since your data never reaches us we could not use it.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Superbill available but do not promise it will always be up, error-free or unchanged. We may add, change or remove features, and we may update the check rules as payer guidance changes. Because the tool runs in your browser, documents you have already downloaded keep working.

11. Ending your use, and ours

You can stop using Superbill at any time; cancel Pro first if you do not want to be charged again. We may suspend or end a license if you break these Terms or if a payment is reversed or charged back. We may also stop offering Superbill; if we do, we will refund the unused part of any billing period you have already paid for. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law) survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

Superbill is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make any warranty, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the checks are complete or that any document will be accepted by a payer.

13. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ning Zhang is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost or corrupted data (including data you stored only in your browser), denied or delayed insurance claims, or missed filing deadlines. Our total liability for anything arising from Superbill is limited to the amount you paid for Superbill Pro in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, or US $50 if you have not paid anything. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with Superbill, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong SAR), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any such dispute will be brought in the courts of Hong Kong. This does not limit any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. If a change is material we will post it on this page before it takes effect. If you keep using Superbill after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms: support@dtchain.org, or see the Contact page. We reply within 3 business days.
